About The Fire
The Fire is Philadelphia's premier bar and music venue, offering drinks and featuring touring bands. Established in 1988 as the Philadelphia Bar and Grill, the Fire has earned a reputation as an iconic venue that welcomes all ages 21+. It offers a wide variety of entertainment, from original music to 16 world-premier Italian operas.
The Fire is a family-owned business that boasts an impressive list of notable performers and is the home of the only John Legend Mural by the Mural Arts Philadelphia and a mural by Scooly D. In addition to showcasing local talent, The Fire has been featured in the opening credits of Tom Hanks' movie Philadelphia. Also, guests can enjoy cheap drinks and look up upcoming events on our Facebook page.
The Fire is woman-owned by an opera director who runs a punk rock club. Our place can accommodate 150 standing, has the Buffalo Soldier opera set hanging on one of the walls of the music room, and is the oldest open mic and original music venue in the area.
